Delete Your Aureader Account & Data
This page explains how to permanently delete your Aureader account (operated by Aura Intelligence SL) and the data associated with it — or how to delete specificdata without deleting your account — what is removed, and what is retained.
1. Delete from inside the app (fastest)
You can delete your account yourself at any time:
- Open the Aureader app (Android) or go to https://aureader.com and sign in.
- Go to Account.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone and tap Delete account.
- Confirm by entering your email address (and your password, if your account uses one).
- Your account and associated data are permanently deleted immediately. This action cannot be undone.
2. Delete by request (if you can't sign in)
If you are unable to access your account, email support@aureader.com from the email address registered to your Aureader account with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify ownership of the address and complete the deletion within 30 days.
3. Delete specific data without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data. While signed in (Android app or https://aureader.com) you can:
- Delete an individual document and everything derived from it (its original file, cover image, and generated/cached audio): in your Library, tap the ×/ delete control on the item's card and confirm. This removes that item immediately.
- Remove a bookmark or a saved highlight from the reader.
- Reset reader-avatar customizations and preferences from the Account page.
You can also request a copy of your data (export) from the Accountpage. If you want specific data removed but can't do it in-app, email support@aureader.comfrom your registered address describing what to delete; we'll action it within 30 days. Deleting individual items does not delete your account — your login and remaining library stay intact.
4. What data is deleted when you delete your account
When your account is deleted, the following are permanently removed:
- Your account record, email address, and login credentials.
- All documents you uploaded (PDF, EPUB, DOCX, TXT) and any URL-imported articles, including their original files and cover images.
- All generated audio and cached narration associated with your content.
- Your library, reading/listening progress, bookmarks, reader-avatar customizations, and account preferences.
- Your subscription/entitlement record held by Aureader.
5. What may be retained, and for how long
- Billing and tax records: if you made a purchase, transaction records required for legal, accounting, and tax obligations are retained for the period required by applicable law (in Spain, generally up to 6 years). These do not include your uploaded content.
- Payment-provider data: subscriptions purchased through Google Play or Stripe are managed by those providers; their retention of payment records is governed by their own policies. Aureader does not store your card details.
- Operational backups and error logs: short-lived system backups and diagnostic logs may contain residual data for up to 30 days, after which they are overwritten or purged.
6. Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed by Google Play or Stripe. If you have an active paid plan, cancel it first: Google Play subscriptions in the Google Play app (Subscriptions), and web subscriptions from your Account page before deleting.
